Illinois State track and field senior standouts Christian Goy, Stacia Beste, Sam Serrano, Alfie Gordillo and Hillary Hyland will be competing in their last home meet at Illinois State in the Redbird All-Comers on Saturday, February 2. The meet will be held at Horton Field House and begins with the field events at 8:30 a.m. and the running events at 9:30 a.m.
This meet has a lot of significance, especially for our seniors, said Illinois State head track and field coach Jeff Pigg. It is our last chance to run at home this season. There will a nice range of competitors in nearly every event and just about everyone on our team will participate.
In addition to the previously mentioned athletes, seniors Nicole Blow, Keri Davis, Monique Haan, Kevin Bailey, Robert Breit, Steve Cotman, Dan Schrock and Mark Walcott will also be competing in front of the home crowd one last time.
Teams competing in Saturdays meet include: Bradley, Chicago State, Danville Area Community College, DuPage Track Club, Florissant Valley Community College, Greenville College, Illinois Wesleyan, Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne, Lindenwood, McKendree College, Northern Illinois, Quincy, Rend Lake, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Spoon River College, and Western Illinois.
Next weekend the Redbirds head to Ames, Iowa, to compete in the Iowa State Invitational on Friday, February 8, and Saturday, February 9.
