Andrea Mosher, a freshman sprints runner from Ann Arbor, Mich., was named Missouri Valley Conference Womens Track Athlete of the Week after her first-place finish int he 400 meters at the Illinois Invite last Saturday.
The Kinesiology major set a personal best in the event with a time of 57.88, finishing ahead of Nicholeet Chambers of Ohio State (58.14), who placed second. She currently has a team-low mark in the 400 meters and also competes in the 60-meter hurdles where she owns a team-best time of 9.18.
This is the second week in a row an Illinois State womens track athlete has been voted the Valley Athlete of the Week. Diana Ainsley claimed the honor last week after a first-place finish in the mile run at the Ball State Open.
The Illinois State track and field teams return to action this Saturday at the UNI Invite hosted by the Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
