ST. LOUIS -
After competing in the javelin throw at the competitive Mt. SAC Relays and the Beach Invitational over the weekend, Illinois State sophomore Tim Glover was named the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week Tuesday by the league office.
This marks the fourth time in Glover's career and the second time this season that he has received the weekly honor. He earned the award on April 5, after setting a school record in the javelin at the EIU Big Blue Classic.
Glover competed against some of the top javelin throwers in the nation over the weekend. The Normal, Ill., native was third in the javelin throw in the invitational section of the Mt. SAC Relays Friday with a mark of 242-07. The sophomore thrower was back in action Saturday at the Beach Invitational and bested the competition in the javelin with a heave of 247-07, nearly reaching his school record of 249-00. Glover currently has the fourth-best throw in the nation with his record-setting throw.
Glover and the rest of the Redbirds return to action Friday, April 22, at the Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky.
