NORMAL, Ill. – Former Redbird standout Brittany Smith will compete in the prestigious Pan American Sports Festival Aug. 15-16, in Mexico City, Mexico, at the Distrito Federal, Jesús Martínez "Palillo" Stadium, as a part of Team USA Track and Field.
Smith will compete in both the hammer throw and the shot put Aug. 15. The women's hammer throw competition is set to begin at 4 p.m. CST, with the shot put following. Smith, who currently serves as the Director of Operations for ISU track and field, holds both the hammer throw and shot put records for Illinois State with marks of 224-09 and 58-09.50, respectively.
