Live Scoring
NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's golf team returns to the links Monday when it takes part in the Missouri Valley Conference Preview, which will be hosted by Southern Illinois, Oct. 3-4, at the par-72, 6,214-yard Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
The tournament features a 54-hole stroke-play format, with 36 holes being played Monday and 18 holes Tuesday. An 8 a.m. shotgun start will start play both days. Live scoring throughout the tournament will be available at GolfStatResults.com.
Fourteen teams will be competing in the event, including all 10 MVC schools, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Murray State and UMKC.
This is the second time the MVC has held a fall preview event to allow the 10 teams in the Valley to get a good look at each other, as well as gain experience on the course that will host the conference championship in April.
Teams are constructed with five student-athletes, and only the top-four scores count towards the school's overall total in each round.
The Redbirds will be represented by freshman Paige Seiser, senior Kiley Walsh, senior Renee Solberg, freshman Morgan Savage and junior Abby Luchtenburg. Sophomore Caitlin Sims will be competing as an individual.
"This is rare to have a chance to play and gather information on the course we will face at the MVC Championship in April," head coach Darby Sligh said. "All 10 MVC teams will be competing, which will give us a sense of how close or far our preparations are taking us. It's nice to have that check-in no matter the outcome. Obviously, we are going in to try and win a golf tournament, but we have prepared for this one no differently than any other. Every event this fall is a big one. This will be an exciting midseason tournament for sure!"
