NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After suffering back-to-back losses last weekend, the now 4-2 Redbird men's tennis team will head to Tennessee to match up against Lipscomb and Middle Tennessee State.
"This weekend will be a tough trip for us, as we are playing a very good Lipscomb team, and then MTSU, who have beaten several ranked teams already this spring," said head coach
Mark Klysner. "I don't know how healthy we will be, as a couple of the guys are nursing some injuries, so I'll look for some of the other guys to pick up the weight. I expect us to play hard regardless of the lineup."
This will be the first time Klysner's Redbirds have faced either Lipscomb or Middle Tennessee State. Lipscomb enters this weekend with a 2-4 record on the season, and Middle Tennessee State will face the Redbirds with a 7-2 record.
Although the team is coming off of back-to-back losses,
Christoffer Greve and
Dylan Steffens remain undefeated in dual singles play. Greve sports a 12-3 overall record for the year, while Steffens has a 13-5 record on the year. The duo is also 4-1 on the season in dual doubles play.
ISU will begin competition against Lipscomb on Friday, at 7 p.m., in Nashville, Tennessee, then again on Saturday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee against Middle Tennessee State at 1 p.m.
