Dibildox, Capacci Advance To Main Singles Draw At ITA Midwest Regional

CHICAGO, Ill. – A pair of Redbirds advanced out of the qualifying singles draw on Thursday afternoon at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, with Adrian Dibildox and Christian Capacci each winning a pair of matches to advance to the singles main draw on Friday at XS Tennis Village in Chicago.

Four Redbirds picked up first-round qualifying wins, including Dibildox, Capacci, Tin Ostro and Caden Scarlett. Ostro and Scarlett dropped their second round qualifying contests, but Dibildox and Capacci were both able to pick up victories to advance to the main singles draw that starts on Friday.

Adrian Dibildox defeated Evan Glebov of Marquette by a final of 7-6 (3), 6-2 in round two to punch his ticket to the main draw, and Capacci took down Nolan Balthazor of Notre Dame by a score of 7-6 (3) 6-4 to advance to Friday as well. Two rounds of doubles matches will begin the action on Friday morning at 9 a.m., followed by one round of singles in the main draw later in the afternoon. ISU's Tomas Valencia will also play in the main draw after a bye on Thursday looking to advance to the round of 16 on Saturday.
