Wallace Wins Little Rock Invitational with a 6-Under-Par 210

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Junior Trent Wallace capped off his impressive tournament performance in first place on the individual leaderboard. As one of only three golfers to finish under par, Wallace fired a 1-under-par 71 (32-39) in the final round which included five birdies. The junior finished the tournament with a 6-under-par 210 (71-68-71).

"Trent was fantastic this week! His 71 today was very impressive with the team in the hunt and under the conditions we faced," said head coach Ray Kralis. "All three of his rounds were under par which speaks volumes about his play from start to finish."

The Redbirds finished in second place in Little Rock at the par-72, 7,326-yard Chenal Country Club, after a strong team performance. The Redbirds maintained second-place among the 11-team field, shooting an 18-over-par 306 to finish with a 24-over-par 888 (300-282-306).

Host Little Rock won the tournament, finishing 9 strokes ahead of the Redbirds with a 15-over-par 879 (282-299-298), after shooting a 10-over-par 298 as a team in the final round.

"The golf course is very challenging, and strong winds today really impacted the scoring across the board," added Kralis. "We got the start we wanted and made the turn within a shot of the lead, but we just didn't display the depth this week that has been a big part of our success this fall."

Sophomore David Perkins finished in an 11th place tie on the individual leaderboard, as he finished the tournament with a 5-over-par 221 (76-69-76). Perkins tallied a 4-over-par 76 (36-40) in the final round and added two birdies on the day.

Senior Zach Burry finished one stroke behind Perkins, shooting a 6-over-par 222 (73-70-79) and finishing in a tie at 14th on the individual leaderboard. The senior shot a 7-over-par 79 (37-42) in the final round to finish the tournament.

Junior David Rauer ended the final round with an 8-over-par 80 (39-41), including two birdies to finish the final 18 holes, while ending the tournament with a 19-over-par 235 (80-75-80).

Freshman Andrew O'Brien rounded out the scoring for ISU, as he tallied a 12-over-par 84 (40-44), finishing the tournament with a 259 (85-90-84) over the three rounds.

"It was still a strong showing as a squad to finish second behind the home team and place three guys inside the top 15," Kralis explained. "The guys have raised the bar this season, and I believe the best is yet to come."
