Sims finished the tournament with a 239 (82-76-81), while senior Abby Luchtenburg completed the event with a 241 (78-80-83). In the final round, Luchtenburg carded a 44 on the front nine, and then battled back with a 3-over-par 39 on the second nine to finish with an 83.

Sophomore's Paige Seiser and Morgan Savage rounded out the scoring for the Redbirds. They each recorded a birdie on the back nine. Her final round score did not count towards the team's total over the final 18 holes.

Junior Leia Atas who was competing as an individual for the Redbirds, recorded her lowest round of the tournament with an 80 (38-42). Atas had three birdies in her final round, with two of them being on the front nine's par 3's. Atas finished the tournament with a score of 243 (82-81-80).

Richmond's Elsa Diaz, who was in third place after the first two rounds, finished with medalist honors with a 1-over-par 217 (77-68-72). Elon's Heather Munro finished one stroke behind Diaz with a 2-over-par 218 (73-71-74), earning her second place.

"One day soon this squad is going to surprise a lot of people, but today wasn't our day," head coach Darby Sligh said. "We had a horrific start over the first five holes that set the tone for the rest of the round. We simply couldn't climb out of the hole that we dug. We have put a lot of training effort into scoring, so this was a setback for us. I know we will bounce back in the coming weeks. I couldn't be more proud of the way Kiley fought this week."

Illinois State will return to action Oct. 2-4 when it travels to Columbia, Missouri, to compete at Missouri's Johnie Imes Invitational at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
