HOLLISTER, Mo. – Behind an improved second-round score, the Illinois State women's golf team has climbed two spots and remain in range to climb more on the third and final day of the event tomorrow.
Tournament host Missouri State paces the field with a 36-hole score of 598, while South Dakota State (606), South Dakota (611), UTEP (612), and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (616) round out the top five. West Florida (624), and Indiana State (626) are just ahead of ISU's 630 in eighth place. Lindenwood (643), Oklahoma City (644), Northern Iowa (647), Merrimack (649, McLennan CC (655), and Drury (664) round out the 14 schools in the tournament field.
Reagan Kennedy led the way for ISU with a one-over 73 for the round, as she had two birdies and 13 pars on her round, and is tied for 12th with a round to play. Through 36 holes she has a per-four scoring average of 3.94, tied for the third-best in the tournament.
Elise Fennell had a birdie and 13 pars, and her 25 pars through the first two rounds are tied for the third-most in the field. She stands one stroke behind Kennedy in a tie of 14th place, as her 4.13 par-four scoring average is tied for the seventh-best in the tournament.
Alex Sparrow had one of four eagles in the tournament, adding three birdies and six pars for a five-over 77. Her five birdies through the tournament are tied for the sixth most, and she is tied for 34th with one round to play.
Dani Grace Schrock had a team-best four birdies in the second round, as she also added five pars en route to her eight-over 80 for the round, and she is tied for 60th through two rounds. Reagan Braker had six pars on the round and is tied for 75th with 18 holes to play in the tournament.
