LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Illinois State men's tennis team completed the Louisville Fall Invitational Sunday, Oct.21 in Louisville, Kentucky. Â
"We did well and it was a good tournament for our young guys," said assistant coach Michal Kianicka. "They showed a lot of promise and got some great wins. If the guys continue playing like they did on second and third day, this season can go really great"
Diego Emilio Moura Herrera closed the weekend with a win in the red draw over MTSU's Luis Morillo, 0-6, 7-5, 10-3.
Cameron Petersen dropped a three-set match to APSU's Jacob Lorino, 7-6, 6-3, 7-1.
In doubles, Zacharias Rankloo Rasmusson teamed up with Bellarmine's Jones to defeat Bellarmine's Naville and Allara, 6-0. The pair teamed up to capture the Flight D consolation final over Xavier's Macaluso and Weaver, 8-4.
The Redbirds will finish their fall season by hosting the Redbird Invitational, Nov. 2 through Nov. 4 at the Bloomington Tennis Center in Bloomington, Illinois. Admission to the tournament will be free.
