EVANSVILLE, IND. – Caitlin Sims led the Redbirds in the second round with an even score of 72 to advance the team three spots to fourth place.
The Redbirds finished fourth out of 13 teams at the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate tournament. The squad carded 643 (326-317) over 36 holes at the par-72, 6,032-yard Oak Meadow Country Club course.
Caitlin Sims played the last round of her final fall season even at 72. The senior improved her score from the first round by an impressive eight strokes to advance herself to a two-person tie for second place. Her two-round score is 152 (80-72).
Juniors Paige Seiser and Becca Black finished in a three-way tie for 24th place. Sesier played 19-over-par over two rounds and improved by one stroke between the two to finish with a 163 (82-81). Black went 11-over-par in the second round to end with 163 (80-83).
Morgan Savage improved her score by three strokes between rounds to card a 9-over-par in the final round. Her final score of 165 (84-81) put her in a four-way tie for 30th place. Sophomore Emma Sutton played 13-over-par in the final round to end in a tie for 45th place with a score of 169 (84-85).
Individual player, Tatum King finished with 170 (83-87) over two rounds to put her in a tie for 50th place.
IUPUI topped the field by scoring 630 (319-311), only 13 strokes ahead of ISU and five strokes ahead of last year's champion, Southern Illinois. IUPUI's Marion DeBove took home the medalist title with a final score of 146 (70-76)
The fourth place finish at the Charles Braun Jr. Intercollegiate tournament concludes the five-tournament fall season for the Redbirds. The squad will return to action in 2019 for a five-tournament spring season, including the MVC Championships.
