COLUMBIA, Mo. – After three rounds of play, The Illinois State Women's Golf team finished it's three rounds at the Johnie Imes Invitational at 909 (297-301-311), played at the par-72, 6,234 yard Club at Old Hawthorne golf course.
The team finished ninth in the 13-team field after securing a season-best single-round score of 297 in the opening round. Missouri topped the field by 22 strokes by scoring 853 (282-282-289) at the team's home tournament.
Juniors Becca Black and Paige Seiser led the Redbirds at Missouri, placing in a 16th place tie with 221. Black (73-73-75) scored an eagle on the ninth hole in the second round and had 6 birdies over the three rounds of play. Seiser (74-72-75) carded nine birdies over 54-holes and played even par in round two.
Caitlin Sims finished the tournament with a 232 (77-75-80). Over the course of three rounds the senior accumulated nine birdies.
Morgan Savage played a 239 (73-81-85) after scoring an eagle on the ninth hole in round one, and carding five birdies throughout the three rounds. Sophomore Tatum King produced a final score of 251 (86-84-81).
