Women’s Golf Signs Two to National letters of Intent

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head women's golf coach Breanne Hall has announced two signees for the 2019-20 academic year in Adrienne Rohwedder and Emma Rouger.

Rohwedder, a native of Prospect Heights, Ill., is a three-time Class AA All-State selection. She is a 26-time individual medalist, who has also been named All-Section and All-Conference. She has a high school scoring average of 74.3, while her low round in a tournament is a 69.

She took first in the 2018 Chick Evans Junior Amateur Championship, the 2018 Illinois Junior Golf Association (IJGA)-CDGA Junior Amateur, and the 2018 IJGA Senior Division Player of the Year championship. She also finished in the top-10 in the 2017 IMG Junior World Florida Challenge with scores of 73, 77, and 76, and had a top-10 finish in the 2018 IHSA Class 2A State Finals.

"I am looking forward to Adrienne becoming a Redbird next fall," said Hall. "She has had great success within the state of Illinois and comes from a strong golfing family. She is very competitive and strives to win every time she's on the golf course. This attitude will support our goals of being a championship winning golf team."

Rouger, a native of Saint-Cyr-sur-Loire, France, is ranked 66th in the National Women's Rankings in France. She took first in the Grand Prix de Tours Ardee, carding back-to-back rounds of 73 and 76.

She had a scoring average of 75 last year, with a tournament low round of 68. That low round came in the French Division Championship, which helped push her into the top-10 overall in the tournament. She also finished in the top-15 at the 2018 French Championship with scores of 70 and 69, and in the top five at the French Team Championships with rounds of 75 and 74.

"I am extremely excited to have Emma join the Redbird family," said Hall. "She loves to compete, has a strong work ethic, and a passion for the game that is infectious.  Her experience competing in strong International tournaments has provided her with a better understanding of what it takes to be successful at the next level.  I am excited to watch her grow and develop here at Illinois State."
