NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State men's golf team will play its only home event of the season Saturday when the Redbirds host the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate. Seventeen teams will compete this weekend at the par-71, 6,915-yard Weibring Golf Club.
Competing against the Redbirds this weekend will be Bradley, Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Detroit Mercy, Drake, Duke, Evansville, Fort Wayne, Northern Illinois, UNI, Oakland, Southern Illinois, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Wisconsin.
The tournament features a 54-hole individual stroke-play format, beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. After the first round is complete, golfers will play continuously into the next round. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament at Birdiefire.com.
The Redbirds will be represented by junior Trent Wallace, senior Zach Burry, sophomore David Perkins, junior David Rauer and freshman Daniel Anfield.
