NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team will host Chicago State Wednesday, April 11 at the Bloomington Tennis Center. Admission to all home matches is free.
Play is set to to begin at 2 p.m. starting with doubles, and singles to follow. With a 9-1 home record, the Redbirds hope to continue their dominance on their home court.
In their lasting showing, the Birds blanked South Dakota State. Christoffer Greve improved his dual season record to 13-4. Andreas Boers evened his record at 8-8, with a win over South Dakota State. Pol Botifoll Rius earned a victory for Illinois State, making him 11-5 since joining the Redbird squad in the dual season. Igor Kolaric took his match over Emerson Styles earning him an 8-3 record since taking over the No. 1 spot.
Chicago State is 5-14 in the dual season, and fell in their last matchup to New Mexico State, 6-1. The Cougars were led by senior Christian Gonzalez, who earned two wins for the team.
The Redbirds will be back on the road Saturday, April 14 to face off with Oral Roberts at 12 p.m. in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
