Men’s Tennis Earns Victory Over Chicago State

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team blanked Chicago State Wednesday, April 11 at the Bloomington Tennis Center.

The doubles point was clinched by Andreas Boers and Pol Rius Botifoll, after partners Egehan Sertkaya and Cameron Petersen earned a win by default. Doubles play was closed out by Igor Kolaric and Christoffer Greve, who topped Christian Gonzalez and Felix Savard, 6-4.

Similarly, the No. 5 and No. 6 spots of singles were won by default for the Birds. Greve overcame Savard in flight one of singles, improving his record to 14-4. Rius earned the next win, defeating Gonzalez in the No. 4 spot. Sertkaya and Boers finished out the match, both clearing victories over the Cougars in three-setters.

The Redbirds are now 10-1 on their home court and 11-7 on the season.

Illinois State will be back on the road Saturday, April 14 for a match against Oral Roberts at 12 p.m. CT in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
