COLUMBIA, Mo. - Senior Zach Burry dominated Monday for the Illinois State men's golf team over the first two rounds of Missouri's Tiger Invitational at the at the par-72, 7,221-yard Club at Old Hawthorne. He is currently in a tie for seventh place on the individual leaderboard with a 3-under-par 69 (36-33). His performance also included six birdies over the first 18 holes.
After a delayed start due to snow, the Redbirds are currently in 6th place with an even-par 288 through the first round. Host Missouri leads the 19-team field by 6 strokes with a first round total of 275, followed by Kansas State with a 281.
Sophomore David Perkins tallied a 2-under-par 70 (34-36) in the first round. He also carded five birdies in the first round and sits in a 19th-place tie on the individual leaderboard.
Junior Trent Wallace carded a 1-over-par 73 (35-38) in the first round, which included four birdies through the first 18 holes. Freshman Daniel Anfield finished the first round with a 4-over-par 76 (39-37) assisted by three birdies throughout the day.
The Redbirds will conclude the tournament Tuesday by finishing the second round and completing the third round with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
