NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State continues its season on Monday, Sept. 17, when the Redbirds travel to Fort Collins, Colorado to compete in the Ram Masters Invitational. Redbirds are coming off of a first place victory at the Badger Invitational.

Format: Three 18-hole rounds in two days, 36-hole shotgun start on Monday, an 18-hole round on Tuesday tee times will vary by team score.

Quoting Coach: "Last week was a confidence and momentum builder, but we all start at zero in round one on Monday morning," said head coach Ray Kralis. "The guys have specific individual goals that are within their control, and we want to build on our execution of them this week and continue to grow stronger as a team."
History at the Event: This will be Illinois State's fifth appearance at the Ram Masters Invitational, and the fourth consecutive year Illinois State has compete in it. In 2015, the Redbirds tied for 11th place and in 2016, they tied for 13th place. 2017 was the best finish for the Redbirds at the event, placing seventh out of 19 teams.
About the Course: Fort Collins Country Club is a park-style golf course that includes tree-lined fairways, distant mountains to the West, as well as Long Pond. It is thought of as a hidden gem in northern Colorado.
Last Time Out: Illinois State came in first place out of 12 schools at the Badger Invitational that ran from Sept. 9 to Sept. 11. In three rounds, the team recorded a nine-under-par score of 855 (287-285-283), which was the 10th best team score in tournament history. David Perkins tied a collegiate course record in the second round, scoring a seven-under-par 65, and finished third overall. For his efforts, Perkins was named the MVC Golfer of the Week.
Next Time Out: After a bye-week, the Redbirds will return in Akron, Ohio to compete in the Firestone Invitational.
