NORMAL, Ill. – The ISU women's tennis team is set to open up its fall tournament season at the Redbird Duals Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Gregory Street Tennis Courts in Normal, Illinois. The matches start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The team will be competing against Eastern Illinois, IUPUI and SIUE in a hidden dual format. On Saturday the Redbirds will play one doubles and two singles matches and then will play two doubles and one singles match on Sunday.
"We are really excited to get out and compete this weekend," commented Head Coach Maja Kovacek. "Being our first team tournament of the season, we expect to get those nerves out on the first day and improve with each match."
Veronika Golanova already started her season at the Oracle ITA Masters where she had the chance to play against nationally ranked player Kate Fahey. She returns home to Normal to play with the rest of the team as they gear up for the first tournament of the season.
