NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head women's golf coach Breanne Hall has announced that Ali Schrock has agreed to play for the Redbirds starting in the fall of 2019.
"We are thrilled to have Ali join the Illinois State women's golf team," said Hall. "Her golf and academic achievements line up with the high standards we hold for our student-athletes. Ali's determination on and off the golf course will be a driving force in helping us reach the next level. We are looking forward to Ali being a part of our Redbird family."
Schrock, a native of Pontiac, Illinois, is the 2017 IHSA Girls State Golf Medalist with rounds of 75 and 74. She went through the entire 2017 state tournament without placing second, earning medalist honors at both the regional (75) and sectionals with a tournament-low 67. A year later she tied for third at the State Championship in 2018 with rounds of 74 and 74 and earned medalist honors at the regional (69) and sectional (72) for the second consecutive year.
The two-time All-State honoree averaged 72.34 strokes in her nine 18-hole tournaments during the season. She qualified for the IHSA State Championships in all four of her seasons. She was the 2018 Illini Prairie Conference Medalist (one-under 71), Metamora Redbird Classic Individual Medalist (three-under 71), and the High School Showcase individual medalist (73). She also was the 2017 Metamora Redbird Classic individual medalist with a two-under 71.
The Redbirds tee off the 2019 spring season on Feb. 4-5 at the Mid-American Match Play Challenge, hosted by Bowling Green.
