Elena Jankulovska Signs National Letter of Intent with Illinois State

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State women's tennis coach Maja Kovacek has announced that Elena Jankulovska has signed her National Letter of Intent to play women's tennis beginning the 2019-20 school year.

"I feel like ISU is the right school for me, providing good academics and good athletics," said Jankulovska. "I hope to use my time here to grow as a player, as a teammate and as a person."

Jankulovska is currently ranked second nationally for U18 players and ranked 1416 by the International Tennis Federation. She was a national champion in the U16 league, won the doubles title in Skopje at the Tennis Europe U16 event and was also a finalist at the Tennis Europe U14 event in Ulcinj, Montenegro.

The Skopje, Macedonia, native has also represented Macedonia at the European Championships for U14, U16, and U18 tournaments.

"I'm really excited to add a player of Elena's talent and experience to the 2019-20 roster," said Coach Maja Kovacek. "I have no doubt that she will have an immediate impact. She is an excellent student as well and has a great understanding of what it means to be a student athlete. She is eager to excel both on and off the court."
