BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team defeated Chicago State in a double header, Friday Feb.1 at the Bloomington Tennis Center.
The Redbirds won the first match over Chicago State, 6-1 and blanked the Cougars in the second match. The pair of victories brought the "Birds to a 4-2 season record.
Igor Kolaric earned a pair of singles wins in the No. 1 spot over Jakov Suler and Felix Savard for his first wins of the season.
Diego Le Gal Perez competed in the No. 2 spot, collecting two points for the Redbirds.
Jorge Adair Bartra Quispe defeated George Botha in the first matchup, before falling by Gonzalo Martinez in the second match.
Aleksa Lazarevic his singles record to 5-1, after overcoming Gonzalo Martinez and Nicholas Liddy.
Pol Botifoll Rius performed in the No. 5 and the No. 4 spot respectively, earning wins in both matches.
Egehan Sertkaya captured a match over Cody Wurzbacher in match one. Cameron Petersen defeated Wurzbacher in the second match.
The Redbirds took two out of three doubles wins in match one, collecting points in the No. 2 and No 3. spots.
The Redbirds will be back on the court tomorrow, Saturday Feb. 2 to host UMKC at 3 p.m. at the Bloomington Tennis Center in Bloomington, Illinois.
