LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Redbirds' six-game win streak came to an end as the men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 5-2 battle to the UNLV Rebels on Tuesday, March 12.
"Today was another tough match and one that could have gone either way," Coach Mark Klysner said. "Igor and Jorge played great and beat very high-level guys in singles. I want to commend Brandon and Camo in doubles as they played a fantastic match, and I wish they could have finished it."
The 'Birds fell behind as the Rebels took the doubles point with wins in the No.1 and No. 2 slots. Igor Kolaric and Jorge Quispe secured ISU's two points, fighting to the finish, winning in super tiebreakers. The Redbirds now own an 11-4 record, and will wrap up spring break with a stop at UC Riverside on Thursday, March 14.
