RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Illinois State women's tennis team fell to UC Riverside 2-5, on Wednesday, March 12.
The 'Birds came into Riverside hot on a four-game win streak and wasted no time on the court. Senior Jana Kustkova and sophomore Laura Fitzgerald took the first match of the day, defeating Tracy Van and Mahli Silpachai 6-3. JuniorNatalia Bravo and sophomore Ivon Mihaleva downed Lauren Wolfe and Lindsey Gelinas 7-6 to secure the doubles point. Mihaleva also took down Sara Khattab in the singles matches 7-5, 6-2. UC Riverside answered taking the rest of the matches to seal the win.
