NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State Women's tennis team took down UNI 6-1 to secure a share of the MVC Regular Season Title. The 'Birds need to beat Drake tomorrow to win the title outright.
The 'Birds secured the doubles point after sweeping the round 3-0. The squad then took care of business in singles matches. Sophomores Ivon Mihaleva and Laura Fitzgerald were the first on the board for the Redbirds, winning at the No. 6 and No. 5 spot respectively. Senior Veronika Golanova then secured the win by defeating Reghan Lynch 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot.
