CHICAGO – For the second time this season, the Illinois State men's tennis team earned a sweep over Chicago State as the Redbirds took down the Cougars, 7-0, on Saturday morning in Chicago.
During doubles action, the duo of Jorge Adair Bartra Quispe and Zacharias Rankloo Rasmusson defeated Cody Wurzelbacher and Pedja Kolaric, 6-1, at No. 2. Partners Diego Le Gal Perez and Brandon Lew had little trouble defeating Chicago State's Javier Sanchez Pradillo and Jakub Zamorski (CSU), 6-4, at the No. 3 spot to secure the doubles point for the Redbirds.
ISU had little trouble in singles action against the Cougars, with five of ISU's six players winning in straight sets.
The Redbirds will continue play tomorrow in Green Bay, Wisconsin, against the host Phoenix at 10 a.m. A match scheduled with Northern Illinois on Sunday has been cancelled.
