Redbirds Hit the Road to Face Air Force and Seattle Pacific

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Illinois State gymnastics squad continues its road swing and travels to Colorado to face Air Force Academy and Seattle Pacific in a tri-meet at Cadet West Gym on February 8 at 3 p.m.

"Both Air Force and Seattle Pacific have had scores that compare to ours this season. It should be a very exciting and close meet. The team that hits the most routines will come out on top and we plan to be that team."

ISU fell to conference foe Southeast Missouri during a close meet last week … reigning MIC Gymnast of the Week Angelica Labat tied for first posting a 9.700 on beam and a career-high 9.875 on bars to help her receive a 38.875 to take the all-around win … Sofia Iribarren scored career-high 9.875 to tie for first on bars and tied for third on vault scoring a 9.625 … Madison Solka tied for third on vault with a season-high 9.625 … Gabrielle Cooke made her season debut in the all-around finishing third with 38.425 … Cooke scored 9.650 to finish third on beam and scored 9.700 for a fifth place finish on bars … Christin Bandy posted a career-high 9.600 on vault to finish fifth. 

About Air Force:
Air Force Academy posted a season-high team score of 193.825 to finish third during a tri-meet with Ball State and Denver … Amber Boll posted a career-high 9.750 on beam to finish eighth and a 9.800 on bars … Anna Salamone tied for fifth with a 9.850 on bars … Pixie Brock posted a career-high 9.675 on beam … Tyler Davis took third on floor with a 9.900 and posted a season-high 39.075 to finish third on all-around.

Seattle Pacific posted a season-high team score of 193.575 to win a tri-meet against Sacramento State and Alaska-Anchorage … Kayla Chan posted a 9.775 on floor to win the event … Shelbi Spivey received a 9.800 on bars to tie the event win … Lena Wirth took second on vault with a 9.750 … Alixandra Pierce and Miyuki Matsune scored 9.800 to tied for fourth on beam … Darian Burns tallied a 38.875 on all-around to win the event.
