NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State head women's golf coach Breanne Hall has announced the addition of transfer Maria Toledo Bailey to the roster for the 2021 spring season.
"I am excited to have Maria join the Redbird family this spring," said Hall. "She had a successful junior golf career and brings a wealth of experience playing in International tournaments. Maria was able to gain some collegiate experience competing in two tournaments last year, but I am looking forward to helping her grow at the collegiate level."
Last season with Southern Miss, Toledo Bailey played in two tournaments, averaging 76.83 strokes per round, including a round at par, and placed in a tie for 31st at the Texas State Invitational.
Prior to arriving at Southern Miss she was ranked as high as No. 161 in the European Golf rankings at the U18 level. The finished third at the English Champion of Champions, and 12th at the English girls open amateur championship.
The Redbirds open their 2021 spring season on February 8 and 9 at the Mid-American Stroke Play Challenge, hosted at Lakewood Ranch Country Club, in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
