NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbirds will close play in the program's 2021-22 fall season on Monday and Tuesday, as ISU will compete in the 2021 Little Rock Invitational, hosted by the Little Rock Trojans at Chenal Country Club.

Event: Little Rock Invitational
When: Monday, October 18 - Tuesday, October 19
Where: Chenal Country Club
Par: 72
Yardage: 7,115

Tournament History: This season is the 28th consecutive season that Little Rock has hosted the Invitational - which the Redbirds won in the 2019 season. Former Redbird standout Trent Wallace earned medalist honors at the 2017 fall event with a three-round score of 210 (-6).

Last Time Out: The Redbirds are coming off of the three-round, two-day Purdue Invitational in which ISU tied for sixth in the strong 12-team field. Behind their individual efforts at the tournament, both Joe Hodgson and Valentin Peugnet were named two of the three co-MVC Golfers of the Week, as each tied for 11th with a one-under 215 for the tournament.

About the Course: From their very inception, the golf courses at Chenal were destined to be ranked among the most prestigious in the nation. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., both the Founders Course and the Bear Den Course are imaginatively conceived, dramatically beautiful and extraordinarily challenging. Mr. Jones, creator of more than 125 of the world's best courses, including Monterey and Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA, preserved the integrity of the rolling, wooded terrain of western Little Rock while developing two majestic courses. The Founders Course opened with the Club in 1990. The Zoysia fairways offer an exceptional lie and the Tif Eagle Bermuda greens present the highest putting surface available. The course play at 7,115 yards, and has been ranked as "America's top 100 Modern Golf Courses" by Golfweek magazine, and "#1 in Arkansas" by Golf Digest.

Next Time Out: The Redbirds get a break from competition until the late part of the winter season, when ISU gets back on the course for the February 5 Tinervin Cup in Placida, Florida in an exhibition with Illinois. The first true tournament for ISU in the spring will be on Februay 14 and 15 at the Border Oly mpics hosted by the University of Houston at Laredo Country Club in Laredo, Texas.
