COLUMBUS, Ohio – Tijana Zlatanovich and Alexandra Abyasova represented the Redbirds Friday at the
ITA Midwest Super Regional hosted by Ohio State in the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. Both were defeated in their first round matches and will play in the consolation round on Saturday.
"We knew we are going to face some tough opponents at this tournament, and we did," ISU assistant coach Aneta Miksovska said. "I thought we competed well and showed some good effort. It was a tough day in the office, but we will rest up and try again tomorrow and finish up on a good note."
Abyasova took her match to three sets against Katherine Duong of Illinois, but ultimately fell by a score of 6-2, 5-7, 6-1. Zlatanovic faced off against Kari Miller of Michigan in her first round match, with Miller winning in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
