NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State women's tennis coach Maja Kovacek has added another key player to her program, with the addition of Silvia Pomarolli (Cecina, Italy) who signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her tennis career at ISU.
"We are really excited to add Silvia to the roster next year," Kovacek said. "She is the type of player that will make everyone around her better and she is so excited to be a part of the Redbird family."
Pomarolli comes to Illinois State with an impressive amateur background in her home country of Italy. She was named the Tuscany Under 16 Regional Champion and was ranked as high as No. 44 in the Under 18 rankings in Italy. She also achieved a rating of 2.5 during her prep career (equivalent to a Universal Tennis Ranking of 9.5).
