Kravik Breaks Pole Vault School Record on Day 1 of Clark-Wood Open

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior Kellen Kravik took down the men's outdoor pole vault record on day one of Louisville's Clark-Wood Open, clearing a personal-best height of 5.26 meters (17-3 ft.). In route to his school record, Kravik cleared two personal bests at 5.16 meters and the record-breaking height of 5.26 meters to win the pole vault. In addition to breaking the school record, Kravik leads the Missouri Valley Conference and has a regional qualifying mark, currently sitting in 22nd in the NCAA West Region.

FRESHMEN PHENOMS

A quartet of freshmen all recorded top-10 marks in school history on day one of the Clark-Wood Open with two of the four posting current regional qualifying marks in their events.

In the throws, Mye'Joi Williams threw a personal best for the second-straight meet, winning the shot put with a mark of 16.36 meters (53-8.25 ft.). With that throw, Williams jumped up from No. 7 to No. 4 all-time in school history, ranks second in the Valley and No. 18 in the NCAA West Region.

Making his return to the ring for the first time since the MVC Indoor Championships, Amiri Buchanan launched a personal-best throw of 17.37 meters (57-0 ft.) to move up to the No. 7 spot in ISU history in the men's shot put.

High jumper Grace Daun matched her personal best set earlier this year at the MVC Indoor Championships, clearing 1.76 meters (5-9.25 ft.) to place second overall. Clearing that height for the first time outdoors, Daun is now tied for sixth in school history, tied for first in Valley and tied for 20th in the NCAA West Region.

On the track, Seven Hicks clocked a lifetime best in the 200-meter dash, placing fourth overall with a time of 24.11 seconds. With that time, she is now 10th all-time in ISU history and third in the MVC.
