INDIANAPOLIS – The Illinois State track & field program has 15 student-athletes moving on to the NCAA West Preliminary Round as announced by the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee on Thursday.
The 15 student-athletes advancing all ranked among the top-48 in their respective events and will compete for a chance to move on to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Texas A&M will host the NCAA West Prelims from Wednesday, May 26 through Saturday, May 29 at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas. The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, while the women will compete on Thursday and Saturday.
ISU's 15 qualifiers are the second-largest group of regional qualifiers during Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Jeff Bovee's tenure. The Redbirds have the second-most qualifiers in the Valley, just behind the Salukis of Southern Illinois who had 16.

Jordyn Bruce, 400-meter hurdles
Whitney Ward, 400-meter hurdles

Kristin Higgins, high jump
Mye'Joi Williams, shot put
Tayler Weaver, shot put & hammer throw
Sydney Laufenberg, discus
Julia Bourke, hammer throw
