Illinois State Named a CSCAA Fall Scholar-Athlete All-America Team

RICHMOND, Va. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team was named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar-Athlete All-America Team for their efforts in the classroom last semester.

"Watching this team continue to have high academic goals semester after semester is everything you wish for as a coach," said head coach Caitlin Hamilton. "We have an amazing support staff helping our athletes reach their goals and I'm excited of the group for being ranked so highly among other D1 Woman's programs."

The Redbirds posted a grade point average of 3.71 to earn the honor, which is tied for the 11th-best GPA in the nation and the top GPA in the Missouri Valley Conference.

"Coach Hamilton is one of our sports' up-and-comers and you're seeing it here," Greg Earhart, CSCAA Executive Director said. "These 29 women are some of the best ambassadors that Illinois State and the Missouri Valley could ask for."

In total, 728 teams from 450 colleges and universities earned the honor. Illinois State is now eligible for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings after posting a GPA above 3.3.
