ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Illinois State women's tennis team was back on Saturday for day three of the ITA Midwest Regionals, hosted by the University of Michigan. The Redbirds would be rooting for freshman Nevena Kolarevic as she continued competition in the singles main draw.
"Nevena played some great tennis again today, unfortunately she had a bit of a slow start and took too long to get going," ISU head coach Maja Kovacek said. "The second set just slipped away from her, but there's a lot to be proud of and look forward to with her. Overall, we had a good showing and we continue to grow as a team."Â
After claiming her first win of the tournament yesterday, Kolarevic would go up against Ohio State's Kolie Allen in hopes of advancing. However, it would be the Buckeye coming out on top as she would win 6-1, 7-6.
The Redbirds return to Gregory Street Courts in Normal in two weeks to wrap up their fall 2022 season with the Redbird Duals on November 5 and 6.
