Redbird Lineup: Joe Hodgson, Valentin Peugnet, Parker Wisdom, Alex McCulla, and Andrew O'Brien

From the Coach: "We're excited to get back into competition," said Illinois State head coach Ray Kralis. "The Tinervin Cup was a great tune-up last week, and we'll take advantage of the weekend in Texas to finish up our prep. Managing expectations and staying in the present will be points of emphasis and key to building some momentum when we peg it Monday."

Tournament History: Last season the Redbirds placed eighth of 18 schools in the inaugural year for the event. David Perkins finished 12th to lead the Redbirds with a one-over 217 on the tournament, while Illinois State finished with a three-round total of 893.

Last Time Out: Using a one-under final round from Valentin Peugnet, the Illinois State men's golf team closed play for the 2021 fall season at the Little Rock Invitational on Tuesday, October 19. Peugnet shot a one-under 71 to close play with a seven-over final aggregate score to place in a tie for 50th. Joe Hodgson and Alex McCulla each tied for 23rd individually by going three shots over par for the tournament while Parker Wisdom's eight-over 224 put her in a tie for 52nd, and Felix van Dijk's 11-over 227 had him place in a tie for 64th.

About the Course: The Laredo Country Club is considered by many as the hidden oasis of South Texas. And has quickly become the talk of golfing enthusiasts who have either become members or very long-time guests or "Members for a day" as we like to refer to them. Built on over 160 acres of once very vegetative ranch land, the club provides an unexpected level of difficulty combined with strategically designed putting greens. The Laredo Country Club plays to four different tee markers for all levels of players. From 5785 yards, the Ladies tee marker to over 7241 yards from the Championship tees. We are sure that all golfers will enjoy a very challenging but enjoyable round of golf.

Next Time Out: ISU returns to action two weeks after the completion of the Border Olympics to compete in the Coral Creek Club Invitational hosted by Florida Gulf Coast on February 28 and March 1.
