About the Course: The Country Club of Paducah features a beautiful 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and provides excellent play for the novice and professional alike. In the late 1970s, when the Country Club of Paducah embarked on the concept of a new golf course, they went to the top for a course designer. The choice was Robert Trent Jones, Sr., who is credited with making golf course architecture an art form. Jones built or remodeled some of the most famous courses in the United States and in the world. He is credited with 400 courses in 45 states and 35 countries, with more than 36 of them at one time host to a national or international championship. According to Jones's profile on the World Golf Hall of Fame, his philosophy was "to make every hole a hard par but an easy bogey." The hallmarks of Jones's designs include greens reflecting a subtle contour, numerous pin positions, large tees that allow golfers numerous choices of setup, and a "fanatical devotion to preserving the land's natural beauty." The natural beauty of Paducah is certainly evident at the Country Club of Paducah course. Zoysia tees and wide, zoysia fairways provide a tight playing surface to approach the bentgrass greens that are framed by 39 white sand bunkers and 6 lakes. From the longest tees, it presents 6,915 yards of golf for a par of 72. The course rating is 73.9 with a slope rating of 136. The non-equity course is available to members and to guests accompanied by members.
