NORMAL, Ill. – A total of five new standouts have joined the Illinois State men's tennis roster for the upcoming 2022-23 campaign, as announced by head coach Mark Klysner on Monday. Dominic Anderson (Brisbane, Australia), Adrian Dibildox (Monterrey, Mexico), Tin Ostro (Zagreb, Croatia), Caden Scarlett (Evansville, Indiana) and Tomas Valencia (Santiago, Chile) have joined the Redbirds and will look to make immediate impacts this season.
"Last season I had to say goodbye to an amazing group of seniors whom I became so close with and will miss dearly, but I am extremely excited to be bringing in a bunch of new guys who will try and fill their shoes in terms of what they will bring to our program," Klysner said. "I think we have a great mix of personalities and tennis backgrounds which will make for an awesome team environment. These guys are all very academic minded which is always important to me when I am recruiting. We have a fantastic history of doing amazing in the classroom so no doubt that will continue. On the tennis court, this is going to be a mix of young and old and I will look to our older guys to help mold and teach this younger half of the roster into what it means to be a Redbird."

"I have enjoyed getting to know Dominic throughout the recruiting process and I think Dom is certainly someone whose best tennis is ahead of him. He has a lot of doubles success already, which was something that I was looking for, and I believe his singles game will improve drastically once he is here training with our team. I think Dom will be a great addition for us and looking forward to having him here this fall."
Adrian Dibildox / Freshman / Monterrey, Mexico
"Adrian comes in being heavily recruited by a lot of top schools, so he was someone I had been watching for quite a while. He comes from a great family and during all our conversations, he just stood out as someone who would fit in with our culture and has the same goals we are trying to achieve. He has had a lot of success on the ITF junior circuit and has had a tremendous summer thus far, winning some UTR tournaments as well as qualifying for ATP challenger events."
Tin Ostro / Freshman / Zagreb, Croatia
"I am so excited to have Tin join the team this fall. He is another guy who was heavily recruited by many great schools. Tin was a two-time national champion in Croatia and has had some really great results against ATP-level players. I believe Tin will be a huge asset for us in terms of doubles, which is something we really need after losing a lot of doubles players last year. I do expect him to make an impact in singles as well right from the start. From our early conversations, I knew Tin would fit in with our team and help us accomplish some big things this year."
Caden Scarlett / Freshman / Evansville, Indiana
"We are excited to have this young man join our team in the fall. Right from the start, Caden expressed his excitement in coming to ISU and he's been working so hard on his game this past year and has really moved up the national rankings. He has shown to be such a motivated and hardworking type of person and that really stood out to me during the recruiting process. I think Caden is going to do big things here and hasn't come close to his full potential yet."
Tomas Valencia / Freshman / Santiago, Chile
"I can't be more excited about Tomas choosing to join us this fall. I expect Tomas to make a huge impact his first year with us based off his playing background. He's got multiple wins over ATP ranked players and has a lot of experience playing ITF Pro events. Academics was very important to Tomas, which was something we strive for very much within our program. I have enjoyed getting to know his family along the way which made me even more confident that Tomas will feel right at home here when he arrives in the fall."
