NORMAL, Ill. - In their final tune up to prepare for the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships next week, the Illinois State track & field program had ten event wins at the Eastern Illinois University Friday Night Special.

Highlighting today's wins was senior Amiri Buchanan, who marked a personal-best of 18.59m in shot put finishing in first. The 18.59m placed Buchanan No. 3 on the ISU top-10 list.
"The men's shot put was a big highlight led by Buchanan's huge throw," said Direct of track and field/cross country Jeff Bovee.
The Redbirds had several event winners preparing the Redbirds for next weekend. The women brought home six first finishes while the men brought home four.

Following the EIU Friday Night Special, the Redbirds will travel to Chicago, Illinois to compete in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships Feb. 26 and 27 at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track and Field Center.
