NORMAL, IL.: Illinois State Track and Field squads brought the energy at each meet this weekend. At the Meyo Invite, Redbirds had multiple top-10 times/marks and personal-best including Raydoffa Braziel who broke the Missouri Valley Conference and program record in the men's 600-meter run. In the Wartburg Indoor Select, the multis came out strong. In her first pentathlon, Kiley Sanders took first place. At the Keck Select, Redbirds win 11 first place titles.
MEYO INVITE
Yesterday, Raydoffa Braziel ran a time of 1:17.30 in the 600-meter run breaking the Missouri Valley Conference and Illinois State all-time records that were previous set in 1988.
Fueling off that same energy, in today's competition at Notre Dame there were multiple Redbirds with personal-best times and marks.
In the 60-meter dash, Arianna Walker ran a lifetime best of 7.48 in the 60-meter dash.
The women's and men's 4x400 both ran personal bests.
On the women's squad, Hassy Fashina-Bombata, Destiny White, San'Toria Harris and Nnenna Okpara ran a 3:43.02 moving up to the fifth spot on ISU's top-10 list.
For the men, Jaylin Holmes, Junias Holmes, Raydoffa Braziel and Enyinnaya Nwagwu ran a personal best of 3:12.53 moving them third on ISU's top-10 list.
Freshman, Garrett Slack ran a 1:51.44 in the 800-meter run placing first.
Taylor Kesner threw a 19.63m in the weight throw moving her place to third in program history.
Joe Boyer threw an 18.45m in shot put improving his place in program history to third as well.
Madison Saunders jumped a 12.21m in triple jump etching her name into program history at the fourth spot.
"We have been piercing it together well these last couple of weeks," said Assistant Coach of Track and Field, Coach Jordan, "We will continue to build heading into conference."
WARTBURG INDOOR SELECT
In her first pentathlon ever, Kiley Sanders finished first with 3,150 points.
"Chase Koblett had three event personal bests on his way to a heptathlon personal-best," said Assistant Coach of Track and Field, Coach Bartolina, "He positioned himself well going into MVC."
Knoblett grabbed finished in second place with 4,591 points.
Other places:
Cade Wade, third with 4,324 points (heptathlon)
Gracie Jess, third with 3,090 points (pentathlon)
Zofia LeHaw, fourth with 3,038 points (pentathlon)
Caleigh O'Flaherty, ninth with 2,504 points (pentathlon)
KECK SELECT
The Redbirds had a successful meet at Illinois Wesleyan as well.
"I was pleased with the collective effort and improvement that many of our student-athletes made today in both the field events and running events," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country, Jeff Bovee.
The Redbirds had 11 first place finishes in both field and running on Saturday.

The Redbirds will split squads again on Feb.10-11 to compete at Hoosier Hills Invite in Bloomington, Indiana, Valentine Invite in Boston, Massachusetts and Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan.
