Redbirds Drop Doubleheader On Sunday At Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Illinois State men's tennis team wrapped up its weekend in Arkansas with a pair of matches on Sunday against the Arkansas Razorbacks, who were strong at home and picked up a pair of 4-0 wins over the Redbirds at Billingsley Tennis Center.

The Razorbacks picked up the doubles point in both matches and then closed things out with three wins in singles play. In match one, Arvid Hjalte took the first set in his singles match at the No. 2 spot, but it ultimately went unfinished as the Razorbacks clinched the win. It was much the same in match two, as the Redbirds fought hard but ultimately fell in straight sets in each of the singles matches.

The Redbirds are back in action at home next Sunday, when they host Bellarmine at 10 a.m. at the Evergreen Racquet Club.
