EAST LANSING, MICH.-- The Illinois State Men's Tennis team collected three wins from Adrian Dibildox and Tom Bevan on day one of the ITA Midwest Regionals at Michigan State University.
On day two, Tomas Valencia will open up main draw play against UIC's Mikovic. The Redbirds will have three doubles pairs compete as Caden Scarlett/Valencia, Jett Leong/Bevan and Tin Ostro/Dibildox take to the courts.
Bevan opened up the Regionals by defeating NIU's Gustavo in straight sets by scores of 6-0, 6-4. Dibildox rounded out the first day of competition as he bested NIU's Federico by a 7-5, 6-0 decision. Dibildox knocked off Notre Dame's Brian Bilsey in the round of 32 and will play WMU's Adesoro on day two.
The Redbirds will resume action tomorrow at 8:30am.
AGAINST THE BIG TEN
Last season, ISU competed against the Michigan Wolverines and the No. 43 nationally ranked Indiana Hoosiers. Nam Pham '24 fell to Ohio State's Bryce Nakashima 6-7, 6-1, 7-6 at the 2023 ITA Midwest Regionals hosted by the University of Michigan.
