COLUMBUS, OH.-- The Illinois State women's tennis team dropped two singles matches on day three of the ITA Midwest Regionals. Silvia Pomarolli fell to Fliegner of the University of Michigan in straight sets by scores of 6-2, 7-6. Meanwhile, Lana Caculovic dropped the consolation match in straight sets to Ohio State's Dani Schoenly by a 6-2, 6-2 mark.
In doubles play, Pomarolli and Caculovic were bested by the Tiera Jarmond and Andie Weise of Marquette University by a 8-4 margin.
Singles:
Main Draw: Fliegner (UM) def. Pomarolli (ISU) 6-2, 7-6
Consolation: Schoenly (OSU) def. Caculovic (ISU) 6-2, 6-2
Doubles:
Jarmond/Weise (MU) def. Pomarolli/Caculovic (ISU) 8-4

The Redbirds will hit the road next week for the EIU Panthers Invitational (Oct 18-20) in Charleston, Ill. This will be the final away match of the fall season before Illinois State returns to Normal for the Redbird Duals (Nov. 2-3) at Gregory Street Tennis Courts (weather permitting).
