CHARLESTON, Ill.-- The Illinois State Women's Tennis team claimed one singles win and one doubles win on the final day of the EIU Panther Invitational. Nicole Iosio recorded her fifth win as a Redbird on Sunday.
In singles play, Iosio defeated Lovissa Valentinisson from Miami of Ohio (Mid-American Conference) in three-sets by a 6-4, 6-2, 10-8 mark.Â
 In doubles play, the No. 2 pair of freshman Emma Lindh and Iosio bested Charleigh Fay and Ornella Lomenzo of Eastern Illinois University by a narrow 7-5 margin. At No. 1, Zoe Limparis and Elena Jankulovska fell to Miami of Ohio's Sarah Dev and Malu Oliveira by a narrow score of 6-3.Â
Singles:
No. 1- Nicole Iosio (ISU) def. Lovissa Valentinsson (Miami of Ohio) 6-4, 6-2, 10-8
Doubles:
No 1- Dev/Olveira (Miami of Ohio) def. Zoe Limparis/Elena Jankulovska (ISU) 6-3
No 2- Nicole Iosio/Emma Lindh (ISU) def. Fay/Lomenzo (EIU) 7-5
UP NEXT
The Redbirds will return home on Nov. 2, where they will take part in the two-day Redbird Duals at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington.
