NASHVILLE, TN. - The Redbird track & field squad completes day 1 of the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt University at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.

With great competition versus many top power 5 schools, the Redbird track & field program held their own by representing the Missouri Valley Conference. With 22 total events on day 1 the Redbirds made some music down in Nashville.
On the men's side here are the performances:

Senior Payton Taylor finished in 17th in the weight throw with 15.62m (51-3).

Sophomore Anthony Smith took 18th in the weight throw with 15.48m (50-9).

Sophomore Yusuf Baig ran a personal-best time of 4:12.71 in the mile, while his previous best was 4:16.77.

In the high jump open, freshman Ryan Schaefer tied for 8th with 1.83m (6-0).
-
Freshman Ethan Reynoso ran a personal-best time of 4:13.11 in the mile run.

Senior Andrew Englert ran a season-best mile time of 4:16.32.

Sophomore Charles Cruse finished 6th in the pole vault with 4.70m (15-5).

Junior Evan Pickard took 9th in the pole vault with 4.55m (14-11).

Senior Ariel Atias took 11th in the pole vault with 4.25m (13-11).

In the high jump invite, sophomore Rob Pulliam took 9th with a leap of 1.98m (6-6).

In the long jump seeded, junior Sean Hopkins took 9th with a leap of 7.02m (23-0).

Junior Darcis Bitangalo took 2nd in the long jump open with a leap of 7.13m (23-4).

Senior Amiri Buchanan took 5th in the weight throw invite with a personal-best throw of 20.49m (67-2).

Sophomore Garrett Slack finished 6th in the 600m dash with 1:19.92.

In the 200m, dash Sophomore Enyinna Nwagwu took 10th with a time of 21.71 seconds.

Junior Michael Marrs took 12th in the 200m dash with a time of 21.75 seconds.

In the 5,000m, sophomore Jeff Luka finishes 39th with a personal-best time of 14:52.72, while his previous best was 15:04.30.
On the women's side here are the performances:

Mattison Plummer broke into the Top-10 All-Time list with her 19th place finish of 4:50.16.

Senior Kiley Sanders took 9th in the high jump open with a leap of 1.61m (5-3).

Junior Kenzie Klink took 7th in the high jump invite with a leap of 1.68m (5-6).

In the weight throw open, senior Morgan Wrublik took 16th with a throw of 16.19m (53-1).

Junior Atligh Hamilton took 7th in the long jump seeded with a leap of 5.63m (18-5).

Senior Brittney Oakley took 9th in the long jump seeded with a leap of 5.54m (18-2).

In the long jump open, junior Gracie Jessup finished 11th with a leap of 5.31m (17-5).

Freshman Colleen Zeibert took 9th in the 600m with a time of 1:35.03.

Freshman Grace Erb took 16th in the 600m with a time of 1:36.85.

In the 200m dash, Nnnenna Okpara took 3rd with a time of 24.18 seconds.
