NORMAL, Ill. – A three-match conference homestand continues for the Illinois State women's tennis team on Sunday, when the Redbirds welcome in rival Bradley for a 3 p.m. match at the Evergreen Racquet Club in Bloomington.
SCOUTING THE REDBIRDS
•   The Redbirds (12-6) are off to a 3-1 start in Missouri Valley Conference play and are coming off a weekend conference sweep of Valparaiso and UIC last weekend.
•   Playing outside for the first time this spring at home, the Redbirds started last weekend off strong with a 4-2 conference victory over Valparaiso at the Gregory Street Courts. ISU picked up the doubles point, then earned singles wins from Tijana Zlatanovic, Nevena Kolarevic and Silvia Pomarolli to close out the match.
•   Then on Saturday, the Redbirds rolled to a 5-2 win over UIC to improve to 3-1 in MVC action. After UIC won the doubles point to take an early lead, ISU rallied to win five of the six singles matches to pick up their third conference victory of the season.
•   Zlatanovic was strong all weekend at the top of the lineup for the Redbirds, as she won both of her matches at the No. 1 spot to help the Redbirds go 2-0.
SCOUTING THE BRAVES
•   Bradley (7-12) is 1-2 in MVC play and heads into the match coming off a 5-2 loss at Saint Louis on Tuesday.
•   In that match, the Braves got an early advantage by winning the doubles point but dropped five of the six singles matches in the loss to the Billikens.
•   Last weekend, the Braves split a pair of MVC matches dropping a close 4-3 decision to UIC on Friday before picking up a 5-2 win over Valparaiso on Saturday.
•   Bradley secured the win against Valparaiso, thanks in part to winning the doubles point as well as some dominant singles performances by Maria Bezmenova, Kirstin Hailey, Andra Sirbu and Mariia Pukhina.
