NORMAL, Ill. - College Sports Communicators has announced its Academic All-District team and the Illinois State baseball program has earned four honorees, as announced by the organization on Tuesday. Senior Greg Nichols, redshirt junior Judah Morris, junior Noah Rabin, and sophomore Daniel Pacella were all honored.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 2.
In order to qualify, student-athletes must have 3.50 cumulative GPA and be an important starter or reserve, meeting minimum playing time requirements. The maximum number of nominees per school is five.
Nichols is a senior infielder from Roseville, Calif. Nichols was named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team in 2023. MVC Scholar-Athlete awards have not been announced for baseball, but Nichols holds a 3.67 cumulative GPA in Criminal Justice Sciences. Nichols hit .239 with nine extra-base hits in 2024 as he played in 47 games, with 39 starts.
Morris is a redshirt junior first baseman from Mather, Calif. Morris was named an All-MVC Honorable Mention selection in 2024. MVC Scholar-Athlete awards have not been announced for baseball, but Morris holds a 3.73 cumulative GPA in Exercise Science. Morris hit .287 with 34 extra-base hits, including 18 doubles, in 2024. His 18 doubles are 12th-most in a single season for the Redbirds. Morris played in 55 games, with 54 starts in 2024.
Rabin is a junior utility player from Sebastopol, Calif. Rabin was named to the MVC All-Tournament Team. MVC Scholar-Athlete awards have not been announced for baseball, but Rabin holds a 3.75 cumulative GPA in Art. Rabin hit .303 with 28 extra-base hits, including a team-best 18 home runs in 2024. His 18 home runs are the fourth-most in a single season for ILS. Rabin played in 49 games, with 48 starts, in 2024.
Pacella is a sophomore outfielder from Mundelein, Ill. Pacella was named to a 2024 All-MVC First Team selection. MVC Scholar-Athlete awards have not been announced for baseball, but Pacella holds a 4.00 cumulative GPA in Physical Education Teacher Education. Pacella hit .328 with 28 extra-base hits, including 12 home runs. Pacella totaled the seventh-most single-season RBIs for ISU with 61 in 2024. Pacella played in 53 games, with 53 starts.
