MILWAUKEE, Wis.-- Illinois State women's tennis will travel to the Badger State to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles of the Big East on Saturday inside Sprovieri Tennis Complex at 2 pm.
LAST TIME OUT
Illinois State swept a doubleheader against Western Illinois (OVC) and the University of Illinois Springfield (GLVC) by scores of 4-3 and 6-1, respectively. The Redbirds claimed eight singles victories and three doubles wins in the two matches.
IN THE ITA'S
In the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, the Redbirds have doubles pair Elena Jankulovska and Nuria Sanz ranked in the top-200. Jankulovska and Sanz currently sit at No. 117 with a score of 4.71.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Marquette is a member of the Big East Conference. Last week, the Golden Eagles defeated conference foe Providence College by a score of 5-2 inside Sprovieri Tennis Complex.
TAKING ON THE BIG APPLE
Following the Marquette match, the Redbirds will travel to New York, N.Y. from Feb. 7-8 for matches against the Fordham Rams (1-1) of the Atlantic-10 Conference and the St. John's Red Storm (2-0) of the Big East Conference. Both matches will be played inside the USTA National Tennis Center.
