MEDINAH, Ill. – Behind a two-under opening day, Elise Fennell leads a trio of Redbird golfers at the Illinois Women's Invitational, hosted at legendary Medinah Country Club.
Fennell opened her day with an even-par 72 over the first 18 holes, before coming back with a two-under 70 in the second round and is tied for 20th with 18 holes to play in the two-day, 54-hole tournament.
Reagan Kennedy also opened with an even-par 72 in the first round, before coming back with a two-over 74 in the second round, and her 146 over the two rounds are tied for 51st.
Senior Dani Grace Schrock's rounds of 80 and 74 have her at 10 strokes over par through 36 holes and tied for 81st individually.
UCF is the team leader at the event through the opening two rounds with a team score of 552, while Illinois (558), Auburn (562), and Indiana (565) sit in the top four. SMU (568), LSU (568), Texas Tech (569), Charleston (571), Minnesota (574), Michigan (574), Wisconsin (575), Alabama (577), Augusta (585), and San Jose State (589) round out the teams competing in the tournament.
